Bill Verralls was born in St. John’s Wood, London in 1914 and presently lives in Hoveton, Norfolk, England with his wife Kathleen. Bill is a retired RAF Officer and the holder of the Distinguished Flying Cross for gallantry as a Second World War pilot. Prior to joining the RAF Bill was, for a few years, a Police Constable in the Margate Borough Police.Bill’s father, William Edgar, was a Constable in the Metropolitan Police and his grandfather, Alexander, a Constable in the City of London Police. Bill is now retired and enjoys bowls, woodturning, computing and is an active member of his old squadron association, 207 Sqdn.
